What is Kundalini Yoga?

Taken from Open your heart with Kundalini Yoga – Siri Datta Throughout the ages, in every civilization, there has been a hidden pathway, a secret technology of discovery, which enables the individual to reach the ultimate potential. This is a technique that has the ability to elevate, inspire and awaken the individual to their own greatness. That greatness is within every one of us, and the technology that can do this is Kundalini Yoga. As an enthusiastic teacher of Kundalini Yoga, I am always asked ‘What is it? Is it like Hatha Yoga, or Ashtanga Yoga? Is it dynamic or static? Are there meditation or breathing techniques?’ My answer is always the same: it is all of those things, and a multitude more.Yogi Bhajan, the Master of Kundalini Yoga, now living in New Mexico, has explained that there are 22 major forms of yoga, each one expressing a facet of the whole. A good way of understanding this is that each different form of yoga is like the facet of a diamond. The diamond herself is Kundalini Yoga, the mother of all yogas.Kundalini Yoga is the most inclusive of all yoga practices as it includes all aspects of yoga within its teachings. In this practice there are over 8.4 million kriyas (completed sequences, or sets). These kriyas are made up of asanas (postures), pranayama (breathing exercises), mantra (chanting), mudras (hand gestures), bandhs (body locks) and meditation. The kriyas are a blend of dynamic and static postures that deliver a perfect sequence of energy, tones and feelings played upon the instrument of the body. In the ancient scriptures it is said that Kundalini Yoga is the fastest way to create the transformation that the individual is seeking. There is a certain depth, completeness and timelessness that is inherent in Kundalini Yoga. Since Kundalini Yoga has become so popular in the United States the Kundalini Research Institute (KRI) has been developed. This was founded to verify, promote, produce and preserve the teachings of Yogi Bhajan, exactly as they had been passed down. There is much confusion surrounding kundalini and Kundalini Yoga. Some experts say that it is the most potent and powerful way to change consciousness, while others warn against practising it, or veil the entire teaching in secrecy. Yet how can something as essential to consciousness as kundalini be feared? Some people worry about raising the kundalini energy, but teachings from Yogi Bhajan have dispelled many misrepresentations and myths surrounding kundalini and his explicit teachings have given researchers techniques that can be thoroughly tested out. Kundalini Yoga is also known as the ‘yoga of awareness’. Awareness leads to understanding and understanding gives way to acceptance. When you can accept yourself, all your limitations fade away. All your fears, insecurities, and self-belittlement cease to be. In its place are abundance, hope and the wisdom of your true worth. Kundalini Yoga is so much more than a set of physical exercises. If genuinely practised, with respect and reverence, it will change your life. There is only one way that you can practise Kundalini Yoga. It is very specific, clearly laid out and it is practised as it was given, with no alterations. Its path can take you to many places, whether you wish to achieve enlightenment or to release parts of yourself that are out of date and do not reflect the person you wish to be. Kundalini Yoga can also offer an approach for those who have only limited time to devote to this practice, but who also deserve the rewards of this priceless gift. The practice is easily understood and accessible for complete beginners to yoga who have decided that they need a tool to help them balance out everyday pressures. This is the yoga for modern humankind. This practice is for our present-day dilemma: to feel whole and complete while maintaining our day-to-day responsibilities. Kundalini Yoga is a sacred technology that is greatly needed at the present time. It is direct, powerful and simple. It is important to understand that Kundalini Yoga is concerned with preparing the body for the kundalini energy to rise up through the Sushmana (the energetic spinal column). The scientific aspect of Kundalini Yoga is designed to provide you with the experience of your highest consciousness through the raising of your kundalini. Kundalini is your latent spiritual potential. Through the practice of Kundalini Yoga, this psychic nerve centre is awakened; its revelation is the release of your true potential. For this energy to awaken safely, body and mind need to be strong and able to deal with this very powerful change in consciousness. The practice of Kundalini Yoga is the powerful cleansing of the whole being. Not only do the body and mind need to be cleansed but also the energetic aspects of ourselves. The chakras (energy centres) and meridians (energy pathways) need to be unblocked and activated to allow this new influx of dynamic energy to flow freely throughout the whole being.Kundalini and chakra work are closely linked. The kundalini energy can be depicted as a serpent, coiled in three and a half turns, sleeping in the Muladhara (Base, or Root, Chakra), the densest of all the chakras. But please note that Yogi Bhajan does not support the concept of kundalini as the coiled serpent, but rather as the blueprint for the full potential of humankind. Kundalini is known as the spiritual nerve, seated in the base of the spine, waiting to be awakened. With the practice of Kundalini Yoga this nerve can be stimulated and start to become activated as it breaks through the blockage at the Muladhara, travelling upwards through the Sushmana and piercing every chakra along the way, until it reaches the Crown, where full enlightenment is attained. You do not have to charge in with the intention of raising the kundalini to full enlightenment, although this is the goal of all forms of yoga. There is a more acceptable, more gentle, way of introducing you to the sheer potential that is within you, and showing you how this potential can be released. This method is to gently rouse or stir the kundalini energy in the Ida and Pingala channels, which interweave around the Sushmana, every time you embark on a kundalini kriya. The general pattern of a kundalini kriya is to awaken and build up the Pranic energy. This is then guided to the relevant area that you wish to work on. For example, if your digestive system needs working on, a set to help with decision-making or an emotional state that is upsetting you might be helpful. By directing the energy to a particular chakra, organ, or issue in your life, this blockage will be dissolved and once again you will be back in balance. The negative effects will harm you no more. There are over 8.4 million kriyas, all designed to deal with the day-to-day challenges we face. There are kriyas for physical issues, such as the digestion, circulation, immune system (disease resistance), lower back problems, glandular malfunctions, menopause and sexuality problems. There are also kriyas for the mind, to clear confusion, addictions, haunting thoughts and creative blocks. Additionally, there are kriyas to balance the emotions, to bring about feelings of ecstasy, to dispel fear and paranoia, to bring about stillness and to attain the empowering ability to accept and forgive all aspects of your life.Meditation is also a very important part of the practice. This allows the body and mind to process the journey of the kriya. The energy has travelled along a certain pathway, awakening, dispelling and moving your energetic bodies. The meditation process is a lesson in inner awareness. Sometimes the meditation will have a breathing technique to enable the mind to quieten as you turn inwards into the realm of feelings and emotions. When this happens you will be able to observe your thoughts as they come and go. This is the start of the practice known as ‘becoming the watcher’. It is through this method that you become master of the mind.At other times there will be a mantra to accompany the meditation. A mantra is always equipped with a coded sonic vibration that cuts through the psyche and starts to balance out areas within that need attention. When there is a mantra, you may find yourself immersed in the sound. This is the most powerful part of Kundalini Yoga. The word mantra breaks down into man, which means ‘mind’ and tra, which is ‘to vibrate’. Therefore, mantra means ‘to vibrate the mind’. This miraculous technique shifts many character traits and behavioural patterns that keep us suffering. In the chapter on Mantra (see page 51), I will explain exactly how this sonic science works.I would like to close this section by saying that you can never predict a kundalini class. It is always full of surprises, since many changes will be going on in all the various people present. There have been times in my classes when there have been outbursts of laughter, which is always good fun and I actively encourage it. Yoga is usually synonymous with seriousness, quiet and solemnity, but this is not always the case. Laughter is common in my classes. It is, after all, an explosion of happiness. This usually happens when a painful emotion or memory has been released. It is also common to find yourself so immersed in the kriya and the breathing that you surface to find tears falling down your cheeks. You may not actually be crying, but tears are falling silently. This is always a very powerful realization of the many changes that are taking place within you. When you experience this, you will find that harmony and balance are restored to you, and you will feel within an endless supply of energy and happiness. When you experience this, even for a few brief moments, your life will not be the same again. The inner light is now switched on, shining through you, and others will not fail to be drawn towards you. You will become a beacon for humankind, a touchstone for the truth, and the living reality of who we really are.To everyone who embarks on the path of kundalini, I wish you the greatest journey. May your path show you the many examples of Divinity that are around you at any given moment. May you realize the ultimate truth: that only Love can set you free. Be free, my friend, as it is your birthright. Be Grateful, BE GREAT and BE FULL Yogi Bhajan

How hypnotherapy can help change your life

How hypnotherapy can help change your life

How hypnotherapy can help change your life

As the client focuses on the longest finger of her left hand, held away from her face, hypnotherapist Sonia Samtani softly repeats the words: “You can feel your fingers pulling and separating, pulling and separating apart.” The mantra continues, until the client’s fingers start to spread.

Whenever I fly, I usually have no difficulty in spotting those anxious fellow travellers who are suffering from a real fear of taking an airplane and being airborne. Their nervous expressions and shaky appearance soon tells me that they are experiencing a very real fear of flying.

Fear of flying is indeed a very common phobia. Together with the fear of spiders and the fear of public speaking, fear of flying is the most common phobia there is.

In our rational, conscious mind, of course, we may be only too well aware that flying is the safest means of public transport in existence. In terms of accidents and fatalities, it is much, much safer than driving, for example. In fact, according to the FAA, based on the accident rate of the past few years, you would have to fly an average once a day for 22,000 years before you would become a fatality in a commercial air plane crash.

These, surely, are pretty impressive odds in anyone’s book!

The problem is, of course, that fear of flying – in common with all phobias – is not based in logic or rationality. It is a learned fear and, as such, it is generated by the subconscious mind. Fear is a feeling, and though feelings are interpreted by the conscious, analytical mind, they are not really generated there. They are driven by the subconscious, feeling mind. This explains why it is so very difficult to simply use logic and willpower to order them away.

The good news, of course, is that since this fear is learned – the fear of loud noises (startle reflex) and of falling (parachute reflex) are the only fears we are actually born with – then it can be un-learned.

Of course, CDs are freely available which claim to rid you of the fear of flying and some of these might be partially useful in temporarily easing this fear to a certain degree. They can assist in producing limited feelings of greater relaxation. But, such strategies work only at the symptom level, by attempting to ‘suggest’ away the fear, leaving the actual cause of the problem untouched. And, based on my own professional experience and training, if the ‘driver’, the cause of the fear is left untouched and untreated, it will indeed find some way to surface and persist.

Real and effective treatment for fear of flying need not be lengthy and it is a surprisingly simple process. Usually, this phobia can be treated and cleared in as little as two sessions of effective transformational hypnotherapy. The word ‘effective’ is key here, of course — because of lack of proper training, many ‘hypnotherapists’ really do not know how to clear this phobia.

There is no real reason for you or anyone to hang on to this truly debilitating, intensely restricting fear. There is no need to continue to suffer when taking, or thinking about taking an airplane. Transformational hypnotherapy, in the hands of a fully trained, experienced transformational hypnotherapist can rapidly return you to yourself, allowing you complete freedom in this area.

Seek out an experienced and fully qualified transformational hypnotherapist and free yourself, once and for allComputer Technology Articles, of your fear. You’ll be really glad you did!

Ghost Writer behind Obama

Ghost Writer behind Obama

Obama won the Presidential campaign in 2008, to some extent, which would attribute to his outstanding public speech and attractive politics. It seems the Eloquence and writing is his great talent. His every public speech can impress us with witty Quips, grant Momentum and Vitality. Some of sentences are widely read and regarded as the classic such as the popular slogan “yes, we can”. Actually, it is not simply Obama personal achievement, but the combinations of the wisdom of the whole team especially the writers behind Obama like ghost. They hardly show in public, but their speeches are always heard by public. So they are called the ghost writer in white house.

In 2008, 60 % of Obama’s supporters are young man and the middle aged, which is the same as the ghost writers. He has more than ten ghost writers in white house, but the key are two young fellows, who are out of school just few years.  One is Jon. Feiphluo, the other is Ben. Rhodes.

Jon. Feiphluo born in 1981 is the chief writer and companies Obama since 2004. Every important speech in the 2008 presidential campaign was written by him, the presidential speech in January 20th,2009 is also his masterpiece, which made him the youngest writer for presidential speech. In order to prepare the Sensational presidential speech, he spent 16 hours in front of his  taptop to research the previous presidential speeches with the Stimulation of Espresso and red bull drink, since Obama won the campaign in November 2008.

Jon. Feiphluo was treated as the key writer, not only just for his outstanding talent, but also for his hard working. He would follow Obama all round him, research his mind and words, memorize his speeches in the meetings, and even take his autobiography ”My father’s Dream” together to read. He was rewarded as the One of “Top 100 People” In TIME, as his tremendous position in white house.

Ben. Rhodes is Obama’s another key ghost writer, 30 years old, graduated from New York University in 2002, which is the only writer for diplomatic politics speeches . Nearly every diplomatic politics speech, which drew the great attention around the whole word, is written by his.

As the diplomatic politics writer, he must fathom Obama’s habit, volume and tone of speech, and also know diplomatic politics. As writer also as diplomatic consultant, he always attends the national safety conference. He is fully affirmed in the white house ghost team, as his speeches can properly reflect Obama’s personal style and diplomatic Concept. Especially He made great contribution to the successful European visit in April 2009, thus won great praise from Obama, the team and the whole world.

Actually, Obama is not the first president who has the ghost writer in white house. It began in 1920th, the first ghost writer is JiaDesen.Welliver who written speeches for President Warren. Harding and was called the Patron deity. In the earlier half 20th century, American presidents pretended to have the ghost writers to write speeches such as Franklin. Roosevelt, Eisenhower, Kennedy and so on.

Jon. Feiphluo and Ben. Rhodes are two of many ghost writers in white house, who directly service for Obama and make great contribution to country. Among those ghost writers, some can give suggestions for president and even have some kind of effect on the government decision. Other ghost writers who left white house have different fate. Some gain another important achievement in other career, someone become the chairman of American Movie association, someone become the Columnist of TIME, and someone become the famous full-time writer. No matter in what kind of times, the talented hard working ones would show their masterpiece at their own ways. The dream of being a great writer has been set in my heart since a 10 years old child, it is a long way to go, but it wouldn’t be too late no matter when you start. So I began to read the book in the online library withmy Laptop.

Boys and girls between 1 to 15 years are available for both domestic and inter-country adoption in Thailand.  In truth, however, very few children under 1 can be adopted. Also, children over 10 are often referred to Thai adoptive families.  Both healthy and special-needs children are available for adoption.  Prospective adopters must be ready to accept that the “healthy” children may have some developmental frailties in their motor, speech, cognitive or social skills.  These infirmities are universally present in all children who had been institutionalized during their tender years.Couples planning to adopt must be ready to adopt a child of either gender. If the gender issue is relevant to an applicant’s family or his race, they must specify this issue in their application. Specifying the gender preference in the application will, however, not guarantee that the preference shall be granted.   Adopting more than one child is not possible in Thailand, unless the children to be adopted are twins or siblings.  A person may adopt a relative. It is also possible for a step-parent to formally adopt a step-child. The procedure for relative and step-child is adoption is relatively simpler because the procedure for child-matching is dispensed with.

Isaan, The Jewel of Thailand

Isaan, The Jewel of Thailand

Many people who visit Thailand think of only Bangkok, Phuket or Pattaya, the famous tourist destinations. If you spread yourself further afield then you will come across some of the most beautiful places you have ever seen with some of the nicest people. The Isaan region in the North-Eastern part of Thailand is a region you simply must visit to get a real perspective of life in Thailand.

Isaan borders Laos and Cambodia and has its very own culture and dialect. It is one of the poorest parts of Thailand but also one of the happiest for its people. Traditional folk dancing originates from Isaan as well as some amazing foods. There are 4 major cities in Isaan, each with its own unique aspects and differences, a visit to any one will be a great experience if you are traveling through South East Asia. Here is a summary of the “Big Four” cities in Isaan.

Udon Thani

Udon Thani is the farthest north and considered the gateway to Laos. Often travelers from the south will stay in Udon Thani overnight before traveling through to Laos. Udon Thani is probably the biggest in terms of development in Isaan. It has retail outlets, big hotels and has an entertainment sector geared towards tourists much more than other cities in Isaan. There is quite a large foreign population in Udon Thani, made up of Expats that have settled in Thailand. Getting around is easy so take some time to explore this magnificent town.

Khon Kaen

Smaller than Udon Thani in most aspects but with it comes a sense of quaintness that Udon Thani cannot replicate. Khon Kaen is famous for its University as many students from across Thailand come to study in Khon Kaen. Like Udon Thani it also boasts a retail mall, large hotels and a good nightlife scene. The distinction with Khon Kaen is that most of the nightlife is definitely geared towards Thai’s especially with the large University population. There are some increasing numbers of bars and clubs springing up now though as the city expands and welcomes a new Expat population.

Nakhon Ratchasima

Nakhon Ratchasima holds the distinction of being the bridge between the Laos culture and the Thai’s, a real cross of Culture. It lies in the Western part of Isaan and is also known as Korat especially amongst foreigners. Nakhon Ratchasima is a growing retail centreComputer Technology Articles, being so close to Cambodia makes it ideally located for imports and exports. It is a huge city in comparison with many Thai cities boasting 4 universities and being the capital of the Korat province.

Ubon Ratchathani

Ubon Ratchathani lies in the South East corner of Isaan and is very close to both the Laos and Cambodian borders. It is arguably the most religious of the provinces and a well-known Buddhist area. Famous for its candle festival that is held every year in July on Buddhist lent so a great time to visit. There are plenty of temples around for you to experience the culture of Isaan in this amazing city. What you won’t find here are the developed areas you might find in Khon Kaen and Udon Thani.

The Isaan region is well worth a visit if you are traveling through Thailand and want a more relaxed experience than the hustle and bustle of the tourist areas. I would highly recommend a visit to any of the above cities.
