We’re all nesting more these days, right? Ever since stay-at-home orders went into effect in March, the extra time inside has shifted a lot of my energy towards big and small home improvements — from finally tackling the organization projects that I’d been putting off for ages, to upgrading or refreshing some of my furnishing and decor to have my space suit the many new needs that have come up in this era. It’s been a big adjustment for virtually everyone I know. Our homes aren’t just where we sleep, for many of us, they’ve now also become our offices, conference rooms, restaurants, movie theater, at-home gym, spa, a place to both be productive and relax, and the list goes on and on….
Everything has shifted, adapted, and changed this year – so it follows that Fashion Week and the fashion industry at large would, too. This September, three of my favorite NYFW designers (Christian Siriano, Jason Wu, and Rebecca Minkoff) partnered with Lowe’s Home Improvement to curate an assortment of fashionable, chic, and accessibly-priced home decor items and furnishings. A month later, it’s continued to inspire me on my own home-improvement journey. I brought home a few chic pieces from the curation – including a wood tray from Christian Siriano’s edit, incredible macrame pillows from Jason Wu’s assortment, and a chic throw blanket from Rebecca Minkoff’s assortment. Even though each designer had a specific POV, with Christian Siriano drawing inspiration from his Connecticut-home and laidback elegance, Jason Wu taking cues from beachside getaways in Tulum, and Rebecca Minkoff honoring her hometown of New York City – the pieces all complement each other perfectly, and add a bit of much-needed warmth, character, and texture to my space.

Disclosure: Thank you to Lowe’s Home Improvement for collaborating with me on this project. It’s been so much fun to reflect on making my home a happier, calmer space.
